My Father

He who summoned the universe and placed it at my feet

He who showed me to stand a dignified fight without retreat

He who propelled my mind to take flight and stay aloft

He whose soul taught mine to live, love, laugh and oft!

“Father” (c) 2009

Happy Fathers Day, Dad!

I am certain, that in heaven, everyday is Father’s Day!

Lovely, lovely post. I have been thinking about my Father all day today, not ready to write a whole post yet! But he died 30 years ago and I am working on living longer than he did – 4 more years is not enough living for me!

Thank you for the picture and the sharing thoughts – much appreciated

  2. What a wonderful tribute and photo.

Oh Henie, you reminded me of my father who died two years ago. “Summoned the universe and placed it at my feet” made me both smile and want to cry. Yes, in heaven I’m sure every day is Father’s Day!

I’m sure it is, but it does not take the pain out of our hearts here on earth when Father’s Day comes. Today has been such a sad day for me. I don’t know when I have missed my grandfather more!

That’s lovely, Henie. And a wonderful photograph too.
